☩ «Great Lakes style Dag Sheath 4029.12.01» is a museum-quality and historically accurate replica. Everything is done perfectly clean; the beadwork is very neat and smooth. In a word — a sample of handwork of the highest level.
☩ The Polish craftsman who made this sheath, listed it as Ojibwa. Indeed, it's beadwork design is quite consistent with what I know about their style and their love for intricate floral ornaments. But there are several nuances. First, the use of wool tassels makes it possible to attribute this sheath to Cree; secondly, the combination of floral and geometric designs, is a characteristic of Sauk and Fox as well. Therefore, in my opinion, it would be more correct to classify them as an artistic mix based on different cultural styles of the Great Lakes arrea.
☩ Like a number of other items from my Plains Indian collection, where I gather the best specimens of Indian Warrior art and do not have much desire to part with them, «Great Lakes style Dag Sheath SKU 4029.12.01» is not intended for sale and if occasionally someone be interested to buy it, I will be ready to sell only at a price indicated here as a fair minimum for such a splendid work.
