My next match-up discovery is Piegan Kaispa (Grass) dance ermine horned bonnet from National Museum of the American Indian, cat # 20/7617, which was purchased by MAI from an unknown source in 1945. The original bonnet appeared in a 1890 oil painting of Piegan Medicine man and Judge Shorty White Grass by Joseph Henry Sharp (Gilcrease Museum, Accession No: 01.392).
