My next match-up discovery is a Piegan (Pikuni) split horn bonnet from MONAC (cat # 2006.28.4). The original bonnet appeared in a single field photograph of an unidentified Piegan man.
In terms of its construction this bonnet is made of a felt hat, immature eagle feathers, brass buttons, cloth-wrapped split buffalo horn with brass hawk-bells attached, ermine skin, silk ribbons as side drops, trailer of wool cloth, cotton cloth for backings, glass beads and horsehair.
