My next match-up discovery is a magnificent Plateau (probably Nez-Perce) split horn bonnet from the Denver Art Museum (cat. # 1985.351). First two phographs show the bonnet on the Museum display, and the third - an unidentified Indian warrior wearing the same bonnet. There is a rumor that originally it was made as a feathered war bonnet (still has the slits around the edge for a lacing thong) and later in it's life re-made into an ermine horned bonnet.
